The gift of Easter, the gift of Easter jewelry

By Lea Wojciechowski Ross, Blogger for Chantelle Jewelers ~ April 6, 2017

Soon we will joyfully proclaim “Alleluia, He is risen!”

After these 40 days of Lent, we will celebrate the immeasurable, life-giving joy of the Resurrection.  What a gift!  Easter is a time when many Christians return to church to remember the truth and saving power of Jesus’ life, death, and Resurrection.  The Resurrection could not have happened without Jesus’ suffering and death.  On Easter, we reflect on our own lives and how our own sufferings (Lent) always give way to new life (Easter) when we strive to follow in Christ’s footsteps.

“I came so that they might have life and have it more abundantly” (John 10:10).  Yes!  Life is what Jesus wants for us – and not just mediocre life, but abundant life, full of peace and joy and trust and strength and faith and hope and love.

No matter how boring or depressing or stressful a day may be, we can always think about the abundant life that Jesus has given us and wants to give us more of.  How can we remember to think of this abundant life?

Crosses are a wonderful way to remember our faith throughout the year.  Many Christians wear a cross around their neck as a symbol of their faith and as a witness to others.  Crosses and medals are often conversation starters and can connect faithful people to each other.  Children making their First Communion or Confirmation take an important step in their faith, and to acknowledge their growing maturity and responsibility in the faith and to guide them along the right path, parents and godparents often give the children crosses and religious articles.  First Communions and Confirmations are usually celebrated in the spring during the Easter season.

Chantelle Jewelers designs crosses for all ages and all preferences.  A picture is worth 1,000 words, so take a look at these beautiful designs!  Choose your favorite picture, then come on in to the store for a consultation and to see these pieces in real life.  One of these pieces could be perfect for you or for a loved one as an Easter gift.

The picture below shows a split bezel cross (with no stone) in the rough casting.  Chantelle Jewelers added the bezel to hold a diamond for the customer to wear in memory of a family member.

Here you see a sterling silver heart skeleton key pendant in the rough.  Chantelle Jewelers’ owner, Randy Violett, made it for his daughter Desiree.  She loved a skeleton key that Randy had made for a client, so he modified a heart to fit on top of the key to act as the bail.

Ahh, the Irish Claddagh Diamond Cross.  The meanings and design work of the Irish are just beautiful.  So many different meanings: the Claddagh Cross means Faith; the heart means Love; the crown means Loyalty and Fidelity; and the hands mean Friendship and Trust.

And finally, the plain cross.  Just a nice clean look.  Chantelle Jewelers made a custom large bail to fit the heavy chain.

“Do not be afraid!
I know that you are seeking Jesus the crucified.
He is not here, for He has been raised just as He said.
Come and see the place where He lay.
Then go quickly and tell His disciples,
‘He has been raised from the dead,
and He is going before you to Galilee;
there you will see Him.’” (Matthew 28:5-7)

What can we really celebrate on the 4th of July?
